Quotes from Ryder Carroll’s book “Bullet Journal” to help you quickly grasp the essence of what it is:

Through trial and a lot of error, I gradually pieced together a system that worked, all in my good old-fashioned paper notebook. It was a cross between a planner, diary, notebook, to-do list, and sketchbook. It provided me with a practical yet forgiving tool to organize my impatient mind. Gradually, I became less distracted, less overwhelmed, and a lot more productive. I realized that it was up to me to solve my challenges, and more importantly, THAT I COULD!

[Gemma’s note: Ryder Carroll suffers from ADD from a very young age in the 1980s already and nobody was able to help him at this time. Medication and therapies are available nowadays, but nothing useful and actionable in the 1980s. Still, today, when we have ADD, it’s important that we take our life into our hands because we can do everything we put our mind to.]

The Bullet Journal will help you declutter your packed mind so you can finally examine your thoughts from an objective distance.

The Bullet Journal method acts as a bridge between your beliefs and your actions by integrating into the nitty-gritty- of your life.

Would you like to learn more about how bullet journaling can help you become a confident, strong, and powerful woman? Then read on! I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about this system, how it works, and how it can benefit YOU.

What is bullet journaling?

Bullet journaling is a system created by Ryder Carroll that helps people (specifically busy women!) organize their thoughts, ideas, and daily tasks in a way that is simple, efficient, and effective. The goal of this system is to help us focus on what's important so that we can get more done in less time.

The beauty of the bullet journal system is its simplicity. All you need is a notebook and a method. The notebook, you can find it everywhere, from Amazon to your local bookseller, and the method is explained and shown on YouTube. The best way, though, is to go directly to the Bullet Journal website and purchase their book and their journals. Now, it's up to you, many ways are possible.

What is the key insight of it all?

Understanding that you will keep track of your tasks, events, notes, memories, and important references daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. It's not "or", it's "and".

  • For a task, your bullet is a dot.

  • For a task forwarded for later, you create a little arrow on the left, with the center of the dot being the direction of the arrow.

  • For a completed task, you draw a cross on the dot.

  • To summarize it, the dot is the opened task, it is then crossed in the middle when finished, and will have a half cross depending if it is sent to the future or to another log.

  • Then, you have a circle, which represents an event

  • A triangle represents a memory

  • An exclamation mark represents something important

  • and you strike it (so that you can still read what was written) to delete a task. (A task that is finished is not deleted, there is only a cross bullet before the task.

  • Every morning, you transfer to today your list of tasks that you intend to do today, and you forward to the weekly log the tasks from your list that you think will be done later this week or next week.

  • Every week, you look at your weekly tasks and you organize them for the upcoming week.

Same for the month

Same for the year.

And you also keep track of your progress on your content creation, social media, and things to do, watch, visit, read, and try. Birthdays and other big events of the year, and more.

I cannot say enough good things about it, and can also recommend a few YouTube creators who are crushing it with their lettering and bullet journaling online. They are gorgeous and do it with so much ease and simplicity, though it comes out professionally done. I'm truly amazed by these ladies whom I'm going to introduce to you.
