About Margaret

Margaret McCallum is a Scottish author and artist. Her children’s book and Amazon best-seller “My Little Birdie Told Me All About Colours”, which she wrote and illustrated, was published on October 18th, 2021.

Margaret spent 20 years working in financial services, and in the last five years specializing in contract management. She has now swapped writing contracts with writing and drawing/painting stories for adults and children.

Margaret describes herself as a teenager, “The Female Adrian Mole”, constantly writing diaries between 13 and 16. However, reading back on them, there is little about what she was really thinking or feeling. During a life coaching course, Margaret was introduced to journaling. Living in a safe space where there is complete trust, she can now write all the thoughts that go through her head and the feelings that she experiences, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

As an artist, she doodles, sketches, and scribbles every day. Her art is bright and vibrant. However, it got her thinking about those who cannot find the words or are afraid they might be picked up by others. She realized that her doodles, sketches, and scribbles were all a form of journaling and something everyone could use to release their inner emotions freely and safely. This is how the concept of the Be-More-You Creative Guru was born.

Margaret is looking to inspire everyone, young and old, to live the life of their dreams and to let people know there is no limit to what they can achieve. She has created a FB group for people who feel stuck or are on the cusp of change and feel the fear.

She wants:

• Fathers to know that they have a vital role in their children’s lives.
• Parents to see that they need to put their own oxygen masks on before supporting others.
• Business owners to know that the success of their business is down to how much they believe in it.
• Everyone to know it is essential to set boundaries, especially empaths (of which she is one)

Margaret’s workshops and courses are designed to teach adults to invite joy back into their world, and be truthful to themselves about what they desire, fear, and feel. She uses theory from the law of attraction, positive mantras, and investigating alternative meditation and various types of journaling, using written and pictorial methods.
